#MotiviPerAmareRoma - #ReasonsToLoveRome

Nasce dar core e quanno sale su p'er gargarozzo, come in una canna d'organo, s'arrotonna tutta, se 'nsaporisce in bocca e quanno s'affaccia ar labbro, prima de sorti' fora, lo fa co' delicatezza, con garbo, quasi addimannannose 'Disturbo?' ."

E poi guardate QUESTO .
Capite meglio ora?

So many people were involved with this hashtag on Twitter.
But sadly I saw unfortunately many young "Romans" (or people supposed to be Romans) and many Italians, confuse Roman dialect with other dialects or with that horrible "thing" that was born by the habit of too many "actors" of reducing Roman people (and so their language) to a bunch of rude, screaming, ignorant coatti, despite of Trilussa, Belli, true Romans and all the poetry of my language.
And since the 140 allowed letters for Twitter are not enough, I decided to write here a note about my dialect... To do that, I'll accept the help of  Imperiali Orazio (Enrico Montesano, in the nice film "Qua La Mano" 1980), poor coachman who, walking with the Pope, says...

"... Because Roman is a sweet language, like a music. You could say that it's made to sing rather than to talk. It's born from the heart and when it comes up through the throat, like through an organ pipe, it becomes smooth, it gains flavour in your mouth and when it appears on your lips, before coming out, it does that gently, politely, nearly asking 'Do I disturb you?' ."

I don't deny Roman is also full of colourful insults, but never said in a rude way, like many "actors" do just to make people laugh with easy and mannerless lines.
Do you find find difficult to see the difference?
Then, even if you're not Italian, take a look at  THIS , THIS , THIS , THIS and EVEN THIS .
Then watch THIS .
I'm sure you'll notice the difference, even if you don't speak the language!

Some years ago, I decided to build with my hands a prancing horse for dolce Steve's brother, danny, who loves Ferrari!
After taking all the informations I needed, visiting on the net the sites of expert Fimo sculptors, I started working too, taking all the time  needed to obtain the best result possible...

DAY 1: I built the sould of my prancing horse with some wire.

DAY 2: I covered the wire with foil paper, to isolate it and make it more thick.

DAY 3: I made thicker those parts of the body that needed it, like the belly and the head.

DAY 4: I tried to give a good anatomic shape to the horse, still using foil paper, so that I could gain volume, but maintain the structure light.

:-) " ... Da cui il nome Ferrari-zilla -_-'

DAY 5: I started covering foil paper with black Fimo clay, so that I could finally make my sculpture strong. When it came out from the oven, mum said "So cute Godzilla! :-) " ... And that's how the name Ferrari-zilla was born -_-'

DAY 6: It was time to give some muscles to the prancing horse, so I added Fimo clay bits where it needed them more. A second trip in the oven secured everithing.

Un abbraccio giallo! :-*

DAY 7: New changes and new cooking added to the symbol of Ferrari a thick mane, pawing hooves, silver reflections (obtained with silver eyeshadow) and a tail that also worked as a support. At this point, I started decorating the tail withthe same technique I used for the mane and I put everything in the oven for one last, definitive cooking.
The air around me was strangely quiet, you could just hear the timer ticking, in the silence of that bright afternoon, in my room.
I decided to have a break and eat something, so I went far from the oven... What an unlucky decision!
I came back just in time to hear the bell of the timer that indicated the end of the cooking, so, impatient, I opened the door to see the results, but... A thick cloud of white smoke overwhelmed me, together with a bitter smell of burned Fimo clay; not being enough strong to take a look inside it, I quickly closed the oven, sure of one thing: the tragedy happened! °_°
I knew what happened just a week later, when I had the courage to open the dor: tail and mane crumbled, hooves melted, a hip flattened and a side of the head vitrified. That was all of what remained of poor Ferrarizilla, that was put in a cardboard box, where it still lies.
So I want to leave you a little note, so that it doesn't happen something like that to you too: it's true that you need to pre-heat the oven, before cooking Fimo clay, but don't exaggerate with that...! ç_ç
And anyway I hope this post will encourage all those people (including me) who are discouraged by looking at other people's works: everyone has his own Ferrarizilla lying in a drawer... The important thing is knowing how to restart from that and try again, until you reach your good results! :-D
A yellow hug! :-*

Un biscottino in tasca! - A biscuit in your pocket!

Ciao a tutti!

Hello all!
Slowly we're sorting out grandmother's things, that's why me and mum were far from our blogs, but today I'm here to take care again of them both :-)
Today I'll show you this little biscuit I made some time ago, when I could still find the table in my room, before the chaos exploded in there ;-)
It looks like one of those mixes I do: big mug with milk and two (Fimo clay) biscuits with a lot of (Fimo Liquid + pink eyeshadow) cream between them; the only difference is that I use Nutella instead of cream! :-D

A golden bead and a cord, where to put the ring, and the keyring is ready!

Spero vi piaccia, un abbraccio! :-*

I hope you'll like it, a hug! :-*

Borsa Chanel - Chanel bag

Today, in this blog, we'll rest a bit: no sweets! ;-D
Instead, I'll show you a new little bag, a Chanel one this time; a girl who's in love with this brand asked me to make it for her!
Fimo clay, metallic chain and keyring, false Swarovski crystals and golden gel pen for the logo... Note to myself: next time don't rush and wait for the gel pen to be totally dry, before painting everything with transparent varnish and ruining everything
-_-'

Spero vi sia piaciuta!
Un abbraccio a tutti! :-*

I hope you liked it!
A hug to you all! :-*

Tazzine ciambella - Donut cups

Ciao a tutti!

Hello all!
I don't really like Fimo on pottery or object you'd use for food, mainly cos of my personal fears than for real reasons.
For Christmas, however, I had a request for a gift that shouls have had Fimo clay sweets and expresso coffee cups in it.
As ever, my concern was about the resistance of an object like that: how could I stuck Fimo decorations on cups, so that they wouldn't fall off, the first time someone washed them?
Then I remembered I already did something that would have last long, actually...
So I bought two really common white cups, with a simple linear shape, and I covered their handles with Fimo clay, incorporating them in two cute donuts!
No doubts the donuts will resist... At least as long as the handles inside them do ;-)
Now, Fimo can't go in a dish washer, but I wanted to make it washable anyway, protecting it with two layers of varnish for Fimo and three layers of waterproof glaze varnish.
They confiscated me boat flatting, before I could put my hands on it! XD
So, probably it wouldn't be able to survive a dish washer anyway, but at least they can wash it with mild water, can't they? :-)

After donuting them, anyway, cups wouldn't fit their original box, so I made a new one, with wavy cardboard (red, seeing as it was for Christmas time), decorated with ecru lace, red satin and a (red too) button...
Do you think they liked this gift?
A hug to you all! :-*

Specchietti da mangiare... Con gli occhi! - Mirrors to eat... With eyes!

Ciao a tutti!
Ricordate?

Hello all!
Do you remember?
Some time ago I already tried to make decorated mirrors, HERE.
I liked them, apart from the fact they were made of plastic and I had more than some doubts about their strength... This is one of my main concerns: I can't give-sell-show a creation that lasts from Christmas to St Stephen's day! :-S
So I started looking for metallic mirrors that would suit my intentions...
Too expensive, already decorated (would you delete Bambi? *.*), too big, too small, I was going crazy!
Then luckily I found them!!! Before being too old or forgetting why I was looking for them!!!
And here they are, covered in whipped cream, from which sweets jump out: marshmallows, candies and kawaii biscuits... Or chocolate bars, sticks and biscuits...

And how could I forget classical biscuits that every day keep company to many Italians, and not only Italians, during breakfast??
Gocciole, Abbracci, Pan di Stelle, Bucaneve biscuits...

... Oh, I knew it, I'm hungry now... And I hope you're too, a bit, so I won't feel alone! ;-)
Shame whipped cream is made of silicone and biscuits are made with Fimo clay, otherwise...
A hug to you all! :-*

Tazzine portafoto cremose! - Creamy photo holder cups!

Ciao a tutti!

Hello all!
Did you have a nice weekend? I really hope so :-)
Mine was quiet, so I can't moan about it!
Today I'll show you these creamy photo holders: they're simple expresso coffee cups filed with whipped silicone cream, in which I put crunchy waffles and delicious biscuits made with Fimo clay ^^

Beh, direi che quel giorno è arrivato, no? :-D

Actually the biscuit was meant to be a keyring!
But then I left it too much in the oven and it was nearly dying like Ferrarizilla (one day I'll tell you its long and sad story)...
I could save it in time, but one of its edges, the one with the hole for the ring, was already too ruined, but I kept it anyway, hoping one day I could use it in a way or another... Well, I'd say that day arrived, don't you agree? :-D
I also wanted to remind you HERE you can find a link to my mum's recipes blog :-)
A hug! :-*

Nuove mollette dolci! - New sweet pegs!

Here I am with more pegs!
One is a bit "older", like this cherry and micro-spheres cake, to which I just added a decoration with a pen... I think it makes it look more complete than how it looked before!

One is a new version of a past peg you can find (with its "work mate" up there) HERE ...

But others are totally new!
Apart from the Pan di Stelle biscuit effect cake, the innovation of these four pegs is I poured silicone whipped cream on them!
Don't you think they look so tempting? :-D

Inoltre queste ultime mollette anticipano nuovi dolci lavoretti che pubblicherò presto... Yum yum! ^^
Un abbraccio! :-*

These last pegs also anticipate new sweet works I'll post soon... Yum yum! ^^
A hug! :-*

Torte all'arancia - Orange cakes

As I promised some posts ago, today I'll show you my cakes so full of slices from orange canes :-D
I made so many of them and I was afraid they would get ruined, like many others did in the past, so I used them all immediately!
Actually I don't really like orange that much, but I must say it's not that bad with chocolate...

Looking at this peg just reminded me I forgot to tell you that the back of Christmas pegs are all decorated with holly I painted with gel pens...

Chocolate rain on an orange sea :-)

Una variante monogusto della crostata di frutta...

A monotaste version of fruit tart...

... Crema pasticcera (ovvero Fimo Liquid e ombretto dorato), tante fettine di arancia e qualche torroncino all'arancia!

... Cream (made with Liquid Fimo clay and golden eyeshadow), a lot of orange slices and some orange chocolate balls!

Inspiration for this peg came from a series of old snacks we had, that nearly no one can remember, they were called Biricche!
Biricche were made of a simple shortcrust pastry base, covered with brown chocolate on a half and white chocolate or some other white cream on the other half, while in the middle there was a whole pealed hazelnut.
I loved them, until a friend of mine found a little worm in one of them :-S

But let's forget about this little accident!
My Biricca keeps the classic base, brown chocolate and hazelnuts; it lost white chocolate, but it gained a lot of vitamin C! XD
I hope you liked these orangeous pegs, a hug! :-*

Steve's mum loves white tigers.
Steve's mum has several ceramic animals, decorating her garden.
Steve's mum loves my handmade things.
1+1+1=3 and so I told myself: "Why don't you paint a white tiger on a pebble, so she can keep it in her garden???" And I was really satisfied I choose a gift she would like without a doubt! B-)
Ok, I'm not really a painter, but I thought I could do it, also helped by a book I bought, about pebbles painting.
But, as ever, a lot of things happened and I was so full of requests for Christmas works that I didn't have time to paint and so, few days before the arrival of Steve, I didn't want to risk to waste more time to rush to finish a work that needed care and attention.
Luckily Steve's mum also loves little birds, it was thank to her I re-discovered bird feeding, watching the little guests having lunch in her garden :-)
So I thought I'd sew her a typical bird of the cold season: the little, brave, so curious robin, often the main charachter on Christmas cards :-)
Just the robin was too little as gift, so I put it on some scented cinnamon, kept together by a red satin ribbon. I decorated the twigs with some red berries and then I sewed alittle golden bell to it all, so, once it's hanging they can see it and hear it too!
I hope she liked it! @'.'@

All'antipasto!

Today I'm also here to suggest you my mum's recipes blog, it took me so much to persuade her to open one!
We just opened it, so it's still... At the starters! XD But soon we'll post a new recipe and solve those little layout problems (I take care of that... Not a real expert, to be honest!) :-)

I hope you liked this post, a hug! :-*

Before it's too late (maybe it's already too late, but anyway...), I'll show you some purely Christmas time things!
Someone requested some gift tags on Christmas theme and I didn't like the idea to make them look all the same, so I had some fun in making them all different, obtaining a great success ^^
They're simple wooden pegs, like those you use to hang the washing, to which I stuck little Fimo clay creations...

So there are some Christmas balls and a Pandoro cake...
The balls are decorated with a silver gel pen, literally copying the drawings on our real Christmas balls!
I put some plaster dust on the Pandoro cake to give the idea of the sugar on it... Next time I must remember to put the glue BEFORE putting the dust -_-

Santa Claus and his reindeer, a gingerbread man, a gift and a slice of Panettone cake...
The reindeer is decorated with some beads; the buttons on the gingerbread man are two orange canes... I love making canes, but if you don't use them in a short time they get ruined, so, get ready, soon I'll post loads of orange creations!

The comet crosses the sky... Down there, in the garden of a little house, a snowman smiles to people passing by... Approaching its little door we're welcomed by a garland... When the door opens, we're surrounded by the warm light of the feast: lovely scents, games, laughter and a lot of children jumping around the Christmas tree, looking forward to open their presents... On the table, ready for dinner, some holly sprigs bring their better wishes for a joiful Night...
Beads, gel pens, glitter glue and nail polish helped me decorating these pegs!

Spero che questi chiudipacco vi siano piaciuti!
Un abbraccio :-*

Midnight is already gone and children are astonished, cos they heard some noises in the other room; Santa Claus has really been there and they have the prooves: heleft here his hat and the poisettia has been moved aside to leave the place for a stocking full of sweets!
Like a last magic, snow starts falling lightly, dusting everything with white and givig the little ones an unforgettable dream...
All the creations are handmade, without molds, apart from the Christmas tree... The ice crystal is made with Transparent Fimo clay and I'm really happy and proud of it... Actually, I still can't believe I could really make it! :-D
I hope you liked these gift tags!
A hug :-*

Borsette Hello Kitty - Hello Kitty bags

No?
Wunderbar! :-D

You know my last post...
The one with new year's greetings...
No?
Maybe cos I remembered to post it just few seconds ago, after leaving it in the folder with articles to publish!
I don't have words -_-'
Anyway, let's start the year showing you all the little things that kept me busy before Christmas, apart from the famous reindeer! XD
Today I'll show you two little felt bags, that made the rainbow 500 have a quite big trip!
The woman who requested them for her nieces sent them to Germany indeed, where the two little girls live! Wunderbar! :-D

Colours and HelloKitty's theme were requested by the woman herself, who knows what her nieces love :-)
To avoid arguments between the two litle sisters I decided to not make the two bags too different, changing just some little details.
Because the owners are just two little girls, who'll take just few little objects (how beautiful when I didn't put kilos of things in my bag ç_ç), I thought the bags couldn't be too big and heavy, so simple (but strong) felt seemed the right choice to me!
The shoulder belt (for the same reasons) is made of a wool-cotton cord, that Uapa patiently twisted.

Two practical stud buttons close both the bags.
On the lilac bag they're hidden under two little HelloKitty, while the little pink button is just a decoration...

...On the pink bag, instead, they're hidden under two pink buttons, while a bigger HelloKitty is a decoration!
Well, I hope the two children liked this little thought... What do you think about it?
A hug! :-*

Ritardo Cronico... - Always Late...

... But justified :-)
Cos these days I had a really very special guest, here with me in Rome :-)
I spent ten wonderful days with olce Steve, and even if we both had a cold, I fell down badly, we had polar cold and I had a horrible sense of direction, we were so so happy about it!
It's the first time we spend so much time together (we never went further than a week until now) and we did so many things and talked so so much :-)

This is the little tree we decorated together :-) This year we had two really small trees around here, but they both mean an awful lot to me!

What can I say? Seeing as your happy-Uapa was late for Christmas, she'll wish you a happy new year, from the deepest part of her heart, hoping new year will bring a lot of good news!!! :-D
