> Old Tige - Jim Reeves

A song that's worth listening to... To think a bit about how much our furry friends love us.

(Tige, you were faithful, faithful to the end

Tige, how I miss you, you were my best friend)

Three years of Army Service done and I was headin' home at last.
I got to thinking 'bout my dog and things long gone and past.
How old Tige pulled me from the creek when I had no pulse or breath,
And how he saved me from the chargin' bull that gored my Dad to death.
As a kid I'd dream of bears and tremble to my toes
Till old Tige come up to my bed and nudge me with his nose.
Then my fears would melt away and Tige would go lie down,
I'd drift on back to sleep without another sound.
The big bus stopped I got off - it was awful dark and thick with fog.
Then something gently nuzzled me and there stood Tige, my dog.
I wondered if my faithful dog had met the bus each day
And all the dreary winter nights, since I'd been away.
To have Tige meet me here like this, I was...I was really glad,
'Cause I hadn't needed Tige so much since the day they'd buried Dad.
Two long miles still lay ahead, but what I didn't know
A giant Dam was being built where the old road used to go.
I thank the Lord for sending Tige and I followed where he led,
Knowing well without his help that I'd be good as dead.
Tige inched along this way and that, going rough and slow,
And I could hear the water lappin' at the ledges far below.
Then through the mist I saw a light and mother in her chair,
I reached down to pet old Tige, but he wasn't there.
"I'm thankful Mom you had old Tige these three lonely years,
I owe my life to him tonight" I couldn't help my tears.
"You say you wrote me 'bout the Dam, well, God was sure with us.
I didn't get your letter, Mom, but old Tige met the bus."
"I hate to tell you, son" she said "but now you've got to know.
When you left it broke his heart...Tige died three years ago."

(You were my best friend)

Un giorno FORSE... Chissà! XD

As many of you already know, nearly last year I discovered FIMO Clay and I like to make little works with it.
Taking a look here and there on the net, I found Sonia's blog , that immediately fascinated me: how to transform simple clay in sweet fairies and lovely little creatures of the forest.
Until now my little fairies were just made by an inverted cone (body) and a ball (head), so you can imagine my surprise and my admiration *.*
One day, full of enthusiasm, I decided that it was time to try to give a more or less realistic body to my faries too, so, following Sonia's example, I started working, trustful, my fimo clay...
Unfortunately, as everyone can tell, my result doesn't even vaguely look like those obtained by my favourite "Fairy's Mum"... ç_ç
MAYBE one day... Who knows! XD

> La Macchina del Tempo - The Time Machine

Red traffic light, my bus stops.
Everything seems to be just like any other day, but at a certain point I see a time machine.
No, I'm not crazy, I really saw it! We all see them, every day, but often we just don't notice them!
The one I saw was a "Fiat 500" type. Yes, really a little old Fiat 500! :-)
There were an old man and an old woman on it, husband and wife.
A life together, since when they were young and he met her for the first time in that corner shop: some shy smile, few quick words, thousands of justifications to go back there everytime.
A friendship that, day by day, became love.
The horrible war that threatened to separate them and a promise: "When I'll come back I'll marry you!". So much time waiting for him and finally he came back home to maintain that promise!
And the economic boom exploded and the Fiat 500 appeared: the Italians car, the car of all the Italians.
With their hard work they could finally buy it: a beautiful beige 500!
Romantic trips in the country, fast driving at the hospital when their babies were born, summer vacations between Rome and Ostia, Christmas at the grandparents house at the other side of the town; and everyday life: going to work, taking children at school, food shopping at the supermarket... Always so tight in the 500.
A whole life together, and now there they are on their 500, their first and only car, that kept them company during all this time and that became old with them, after a lot of arguments, a lot of sacrifices and a lot of anniversaries.
Their sons are adults now and they live far with their own families, but every Sunday they visit them bringing there their young nephews.
They became old, but their wedding rings shine in the sun like they did that day of a long time ago, when they promised each other everlasting love, a love that kept them together for nearly 60 years.
The traffic light instead lasts just few minutes: green light and the bus starts moving again, leaving behind us that little, old, wonderful time machine...

Romani, prendete i mezzi pubblici! - People of Rome, use public transport service!

12:05 ............... 12:10 ............... Eccolo! :-O Ah, no ...............12:23.............
Finalmente: 491 - DIREZIONE P.LE WASHINGTON.
IN...
X: Eh sse, e mmo nun è che sse potemo mette' a cambia' tutti i segnali sull'auto, perché stanno a ffa' i lavori... >:-(
Capperi che faticaccia, in effetti no...
MmmoOolto faticoso!!! |:-°

Also today, as ever, I went out of home to go to work.
Also today, as ever, I took the bus.
And also today, as ever, I wondered... Why??? >.<
After ten endless minutes of waiting at the stop, that was already full of people, I could see my bus: "DIRECTION TERMINI", incredibly empty.
I jumped on it smiling, but once inside it I discovered it was a limited ride...
Imagine my face when I had to get off at another full bus stop to wait for another bus... >:-O
Luckily seeing an old Fiat 600 made me feel better...
Once I took the next bus, I felt nearly sure I could arrive at work in time.
But I couldn't know they closed a very important street: I was trapped in traffic and in the spooky noises of my bus...
Every minute less trustful, I started waiting for the second bus I needed to arrive in Piazzale Flaminio.
12:05 ............ 12:10 ............ It's arriving! :-O Ah, no ............ 12:23.............
Finally: bus 491 - DIRECTION P.LE WASHINGTON (really close to Piazzale Flaminio).
But the bus stopped again at Piazzale delle Canestre, just in the middle of Villa Borghese or, to give you an idea of where it is from Piazzale Flaminio, on top of the moon...
Angry as a guanaco, after seeing an old woman desperate and confused, cos she had to carry her heavy bags to the far next stop, I went talking with the driver:
F: Excuse me, why on the bus it says it takes to Piazzale Washington, while actually it stops a long way before it? What do people who don't know about the limitation do? >:-S
X: Eh yes, (Roman dialect) we can't change all the signs on the bus, cos they're working in the street down there... >:-(
Oh, right, that's really a hard fatigue...
You know what? Also paying the monthly ticket is a hard work...
SsoOo hard!!! |:-°

> Perché? - Why?

Why they don't sell Brooklyn chewing gum lemon flavoured anymore?
Those with the yellow wrapping paper, those that became hard like rocks after a while, but anyway also those that were so good?... *.*
I'm trying to persuade as more people as possible to ask for them in shops... I wonder if that can help them to come back! :-S

> Pasta assassina - Killer pasta

As ever, going to work, I went in one of my "trusted sandwich shops" , to buy my lunch...
Pizza with bresaola beef-rocket-parmigiano was there, but people who know me know well that in front of pasta my mind stops working and recognising any other type of food different from pasta.
So, when I came out from the shop with my dish of pasta arrabbiata on my hands, you could clearly read a big satisfaction on my face...
Arrabbiata sauce, just to remind you, has, as main ingredients: very common tomato sauce, very common garlic and very common chili pepper, that, if mixed with knowledge (and wisdom), can create a great sauce with a typical spicy taste.
But, unfortunately, everyone of us has his own liking and a feeling in taste things that can change from person to person...
So, even if I expected a particularly spicy sauce, I must say I felt a little bit worried, when I started launching flames from my mouth...
Here I can show you a frame of what the hidden security camera of the office could catch...

> Dov'è la mia testa? - Where's my head?

YUM YUM :-)
Commentate, se volete... Ma senza infierire! XD

Three days ago I left a post it on my pc to remind me something to write in an article.
Maybe a boring article, but I wrote it anyway :-S
Someday I'll forget my head somewhere and I won't notice it!
Yes... I often always have my head somewhere in a cloud... It's always been like that!
And I've always believed in dreams, giving imagination a really important role in my life.
But I must admit sometimes I ended doing silly things! XD
For example...
In the 80s, to the various snacks that were already in the shops, Motta added the delicious Yo Yo: two sponge cake discs, one of them covered in sugar, kept together by a soft chocolate cream. The shape really recalled a yo-yo! YUM YUM :-)
me and my mum decided we had to taste that wonderful thing!
So, the next day, I went to school, just waiting for the right time to eat it...
10:30, the bells rings: looking triumphant, I take out my new greedy snack from the school bag... WHEN AT A CERTAIN POINT... :-O
I suddenly remember the advert showing it: very happy children throw their Yo Yo, that, like a real yo-yo, goes back ontheir hands, ready to be eaten.
For those who can't still imagine the tragicomic end of this story, here it is: a little disappointed Uapa looks at her Yo Yo, that, instead of going back on her hands, ready to be eaten, stays there, on the floor, in a corner of the classroom £C of the elementary school...
That's when I started not believing in everything they said on adverts... :-$
Leave a comment, if you want to, but don't be pitiless! XD

> Il Silenzio - The Silence

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAWfyexuyrQ

Buona notte amore, ti vedrò nei miei sogni.
Buona notte a te, che sei lontana.

Goodnight my love, I'll see you in my dreams.
Good night to you, far from here.
