Caro nonno Quinto... - Dear grandpa Quinto...

Ci dicevi: "Forza 'm bo'! Su 'm bo'! Oh rega'!!!" .
Ciao nonno :-*

2008-2013

You used to tell us: "Come on! Hurry up! Oh guys!!!".
Always growling, from the morning to the evening, about everything and everyone, and woe to you if you walk in front of that window and don't say hello:
"Well?! Who's there?! What the heck!!!"
But you weren't just that.
You're not just that.
You're a glass of good wine and a warm soup, faithful and welcome companions of every meal.
You're a deck of cards and a briscola that sets fire to souls.
You're big happy tears when you see your family, cheerful sons and daughters and naughty grandchildren all together, in that house you built, brick after brick, for them, with big sacrifice, less strength in your arms as the years went by, but always with a lot of ideas and with the expert and precious advice of a good bricklayer.
You're trophies of icecream and candy, worthy prizes after a walk "There at the Station".
You're a little blue Apecar proudly whirring on the road and stunting at every bend.
You're dozens of cats, all of them with the same name: Chicchio and Chicchia.
You're a raised hand, with the bent finger, to keep the time, reminiscent of a musical career with your dear trombone.
You're a Christmas letter: the fake surprise of finding it under the dish, the failed escape from its senders, a tip of money, always and in spite of everything.
You're fear and jealousy, stubbornness and mutterings, but then you said: "Oh, eh well, one says that, but it's to joke, it's not like if... Understand? Eh, well!".
But this is not a joke. This time it's not a joke. And this is really the last letter we can write to you... And now, again, we're getting in line, but today it'll be us giving something to you: a big kiss and the true promise to always keep you in our hearts... Ciao grandpa :-*

Specchio e... - Mirror and...

How original this title can be!
No one could ever imagine I'll talk about a mirror! >.<

Here it is: a simple mirror with a white wooden frame that someone was going to throw away!
To make it look a bit better and not make it disappear on the wall (white too), your Uapa decided to decorate it with some decoupage paper that waited for years a good chance to be used...
The mirror is hanging on a little floor of our little country house. Along the spiral staircase there will be some "four seasons" pictures (iI know I'm always thinking about food, but this time I don't mean the pizza flavour), so I thought the mirror had to follow the same subject, using those same things we actually see in our field :-)

So, when Spring arrives, a bluetit gently jumps among the branches of cherry tree and wild roses...

... Il sole caldo dell'Estate ci regala pesche succose e more dolcissime... Anche gli uccellini sembrano apprezzarne il sapore...

... The warm Summer sun gives us juicy peaches and sweet blackberries... And also little birds seem to appreciate their flavour...

... Then Autumn arrives: colours slowly change, until everything is coloured with gold, brown, copper and a veil of melancholy starts covering things... Luckily figs, pears and grapefruit help making it all sweeter...

... Until you have to give way to the cold Winter. Everything seems grey and without light, almost dead. But here and there some bright colourful spots remind us that nature is just resting a bit. And robins play among the last persimmons left on the bare branches of our little tree.

Then I decided to put this little jar just under the mirror... I think it gives another little bit of life to the two cold seasons, looking at life in the undergrowth :-)

And this is how it looks, what do you think about it?
I thought I'd decorate just the four corners to not risk to make it seem too heavy :-)
And now, so that you know, I didn't forget of the game we were playing for the blog's birthday: so I officially tell you that my favourite Take That was... Gary Barlow! Congratulations to Dyl, who gave the correct answer ^^ even if, as you know, there isn't a prize to win ^^'
A rainbow hug and see you in the next post! :-*
