XD
Our dear Teresa, indefatigable charwoman of our office, retired few days ago, so, among hugs and kisses, everyone made her a gift...
And of course I made her my gift too!
I really didn't have much time (just few hours... Thank you all for telling me in time >:-( ) , so I had to make a last minute gift!
But I made it with love... And with my hands too!
A little cup of coffee-photo clip made with Fimo clay and the wish she can relax and enjoy a real coffee, without Having to run at work! ^^
The picture is of an old work I made, that's now on the desk in the office of a nice man... So don't worry if you see a not focused spot on the screen... It's just a picture I took with the old mobile phone! XD

> Paperino - Donald Duck
Some years ago my best friend put this question in my mind.
And, since then, I didn't find a satisfying answer yet.
So, today, I want to share it with you all.
Why Donald Duck, after a shower, wears slippers and a towel around his waist, while usually he walks around without shoes and trousers?! :-P

Cosa cosa? Come?? "Cadranno dal nido" ??? Fermi tutti!!!

BUONA PRIMAVERA A TUTTI! :-*
We're in March, in few days Spring will arrive! And it's also the season during which new cubs of various species will see the world for the first time! Among them there'll be a lot of chicks too, from the common sparrow to the, sadly near to extinction, swallow. In few weeks these little birds will start training to fly and... What? What?? "They'll fall from their nests" ??? Stop!!! This is just a common belief we're used to! Yes, cos little birds you find on the ground during this season don't fall at all from their nest! It's actually their mum who push them out of it at one point, even if they're not able to fly yet, to make them grow up on the ground. And it's here, among bushes and various places where to hide, that parents will teach their sons how to face life and its dangers, how to find food and how to recognise predators to defend themselves from them. True, it can be fatal for many of them, but this is how nature works and it's not right to interfere with it. So when you find a little bird...

True, it can be fatal for many of them, but this is how nature works and it's not right to interfere with it. So when you find a little bird...
1) Don't pick him up!
The only help you can really give, in case of real danger (like a road with traffic or a near cat) , is to hide the chick in the nearer bush. Once there and safe, his mum and dad will keep taking care of him and they will divert predator's attention, even risking life.
2) Don't take him home!
To nurse a little bird is very complicated and often these little creatures feel like a "prey" and they let themselves die, rather than live in fear. Trying to have their parents help, leaving the chicks on a balcony or near a window, won't work either, cos after some hours parents won't be able to recognise them anymore, cos of our smell; and it looks like some species can even poison their imprisoned cubs. Talking about imprisonment, remember, at least here in Italy, it's illegal to keep at home savage animals (even the common sparrow is a savage animal) so you risk heavy fines and even jail...
3) In the lucky case of the bird surviving in captivity and becoming adult, don't think about set him free again: you would sentence him to death!
In fact probably he won't be able to live free without our help anymore, cos he missed those teachings that only his parents experience could give him.
? And if he's clearly injured ?
Also in this case do-it-yourself is not recommended. Take a cardboard box (for little birds the perfect box is the shoes one) and make some holes on the cover, clipping it with scissors. Gently put the little bird inside it and put the cover on the box: he'll feel protected in the dark and holes will give him enough air to breath. Now take him to the nearer rescue center (you can ask any vet where to find one; In Italy we have LIPU) , where expert vets and stubborn volunteers (I know something about it) will take care of the bird in the best way possible, without interfering with his nature, until he'll be able to fly and will be returned to freedom!
And, for sure, this will be the best gift you can give him :-)
PS: if your furry cat brings you a little bird as a gift, don't shout at him... It's in his nature and he can't help it!
PPS : if you want to know better LIPU (they don't care just about birds) and initiatives they promote HERE is the link to their site!
HAPPY SPRING TO ALL OF YOU! :-*

> Benvenuta Lilla! - Welcome Lilla!

As ever Nereo's bike is parked on the usual railing and he's next to it.
But this time he's not alone: near him, or better, around his feet, something's moving...!
A puffy furry puppy who was waiting, at a vet, to be adopted!
Lilla (three months old, half-breed between a bloodhound and a boxer) arrived few days ago, but she's already used to her new life in an open space: true, she doesn't live in a house, but Nereo takes good care of her, like he did with Ambra, and she's already in love with him!
Long walks with Nereo don't scare her, she sees everything as a funny game to play with her human... And when she feels tired, on the bike there's always a basket where she can rest... At least until she'll fit in it! ;-D
In conclusion, finally they're not alone anymore! :-)
Welcome, little Lilla, good luck for your new life! :-*

> Lucio Batisti, Anche per te - Lucio Battisti, For you too
a darle i miei pensieri,
a darle i miei pensieri,
For you who make your coffee when it's still dark...
You who dress up without looking anymore at the mirror behind you...
You who go in a church praying in a low voice
thinking about the world by now so far from you.
For you who go back home in the morning, cos
in the streets no one feels cold and needs you anymore...
For you who put money near him while is sleeping,
giving another bit of love to someone who doesn't know what to do with it.
For you too I'd die, but I'm not able to die.
For you too I'd give something I don't have.
So, so, so
I stay here,
giving her my thoughts,
giving her what yesterday
I would have given to the wind, trying to reach someone who...
Would have said yes to the wind.
For you who wake up your child in the morning and then
you dress him up, take him to school and then go to work.
For you, that a mistake cost you so much...
You who tremble looking at a man and live a life of regret.
For you too I'd die, but I'm not able to die.
For you too I'd give something I don't have.
So, so, so
I stay here,
giving her my thoughts,
giving her what yesterday
I would have given to the wind, trying to reach someone who...
