Ogni anno a Crowthorne, e in altri villaggi Inglesi, si celebra l'arrivo delle festività natalizie con il Christmas Late Night Shopping, una serata in cui i negozi aderenti all'iniziativa estendono l'orario di apertura fino alla sera.
Lungo l'High Street, la via principale di ogni villaggio, le vetrine si illuminano e i marciapiedi si riempiono di gente festante, caldarroste e... Mercatini! :-D
Keiko, la figlia del mio capo, mi ha proposto di vendere le mie creazioni durante questa serata e io, finalmente, dopo tanta esitazione (leggi: 4 anni), ho colto la palla al balzo!
Ora, in quattro anni di permanenza quissù, a parte pochi sporadici oggetti, già in vendita in una sala da tè, non avevo davvero nulla di pronto per l'evento, quindi mi sono immersa nel fimo per tre settimane di fila, lavorando senza sosta, al punto che le mie mani sono ridotte un disastro: dolorose screpolature che mi hanno costretta (e ancora mi costringono) a trattamenti intensivi con la vasellina!
Il duro lavoro è stato ricompensato da un'accoglienza formidabile e da un successo davvero inaspettato: sono tornata a casa dopo un quasi-tutto esaurito! :-D
Ancora una volta ho toccato con mano il forte senso di comunità di questo villaggio e dei suoi abitanti.
Ho ricevuto un supporto prezioso da una squadra eccezionale di persone: Steve, i miei capi, i miei colleghi, l'associazione dei negozianti, perfino alcuni affezionati clienti mi sono stati vicini, mi hanno incoraggiata ed aiutata moralmente e fisicamente in questa piccola grande impresa.
A loro e a tutte quelle persone che nella fredda serata del 2 Dicembre hanno acquistato qualcosa, mi sono venute a trovare o semplicemente mi hanno regalato un sorriso, a tutti loro va il mio più sentito e sincero GRAZIE, con tutto il mio cuore :-*

Every year in Chrowthorne, and in other English villages, the arrival of Christmas festivities is celebrated with the Christmas Late Night Shopping, an evening during which shops who partecipate stay open until late.
Along the High Street windows light up and paths get filled with cheerful people, roasted chestnuts and... Stalls! :-D
Keiko, my boss' daughter, proposed me to sell my creations during this evening and, after a long hesitation (read: 4 years), I finally accepted!
Now, during the four years of life here, apart from few little objects that I'm already selling in a tea room, I really didn't have anything ready for the event, so I dived into fimo for three weeks, working non stop, at the point my hands are now a disaster: painful cracks that forced me (and still force me) to an intensive vaseline treatment!
Hard work has been rewarded with an extraordinary welcoming reaction and by a really unexpected success: I went back home after selling nearly everything! :-D
Once again I experienced the strong sense of community of this village and of its inhabitants.
I received a precious support from a great team of people: Steve, my bosses, my workmates, the traders association, even some affectionate customers of the café has been close to me, they encouraged me and they helped me, both psychologicaly and practically, during this little big experience.
To them and to all the people who, during the cold evening of the 2nd of December, bought something, visited me or simply gave me a smile, to them all I say a sincere THANK YOU, with all my heart :-*

Per una fortunata coincidenza, in un negozio ho trovato questa scatola di latta a forma di frigorifero (sul retro della scatola c'è dipinto il retro del frigo!), perfetta per le mie calamite! XD
Lucky coincideence, in a shop I found this tin box shaped as a fridge (on the back of the box the back of the fridge is painted!), perfect for my magnets! XD
Nello stesso negozio ho comprato questa griglia per lasciar raffreddare i biscotti appena sfornati: Steve l'ha dipinta dello stesso colore del frigo, per dare un colore-tema al banco :-)
I miei orecchini haanno fatto bella mostra di sé su questo display ^^
In the same shop I also bought this cooling rack for biscuits: Steve painted the same colour of the fridge, to give a thee-colour to the stall :-)
My earrings were displayed there ^^
Sul fondo della valigia (sollevato grazie a delle scatole) ho sistemato delle scatoline decoden, dei portachiavi, delle decorazioni natalizie (con una delle mie famose renne) e una novità: dei segnalibri :-)
On the bottom of the suitcase (that I raised it with some boxes) I displayed some small decoden boxes, some keyrings, some Christmas decorations (with one of my famous reindeer) and my new entry: some bookmarks :-)
Infine, una scatolina con tutta la gamma natalizia, compresi dei bastoncini di zucchero fimoloso, delle mollette chiudipacco e delle mollette omino di neve :-)
E' stata un'esperienza fantastica, che forse ha aperto le porte a nuove opportunità per il nuovo anno, vedremo un po' :-)
