> Fronte di Liberazione dei Nani da Giardino - Garden Gnome Liberation Front
Una volta un comico parlò di questo movimento durante uno spettacolo, e tutti ridemmo di gusto, per via dell'assurdità della cosa.
Così qualche tempo fa, in preda alla noia e non sapendo cosa cercare su Google, ho digitato, con noncuranza, "Liberazione Nani da Giardino", senza aspettarmi di trovare dei risultati veri e propri.
6250 risultati, non è uno scherzo! Il movimento in questione esiste sul serio e si estende a tutta Europa!
In poche parole, i suoi sostenitori sono convinti che i nani da giardino abbiano un'anima e che ognuno di loro sia un prigioniero, costretto a sorridere in eterno, nel giardino del suo crudele proprietario.
Immaginate che sorte infelice per una creatura della foresta, nata libera...!
Ma ecco che entra in azione il Fronte di Liberazione dei Nani da Giardino!
Il nano viene prelevato dal luogo della prigionia e portato in un bosco, e la statuetta di gesso che lo rappresenta viene spaccata: in questo modo all'anima del nano viene finalmente restituita la libertà!
Bene, detto questo, per tutti quelli di voi che hanno un giardino con dei nanetti: tenete gli occhi bene aperti! ;-)
Once a comic actor talked about it, during a show, and we all laughed a lot, cos of such an absurd thought. So, some time ago, being bored and not knowing what to look for on Google, I typed, without caring much about it, "Liberation Garden Gnomes", without expecting to find something actually. 20900 results, that's not a joke! The movement really exists and it works in whole Europe! I'll tell you what it's all about in few words. Its supporters believe that garden gnomes have a soul and each one of them is a prisoner, forced to smile for ever, in the garden of his cruel owner. Imagine what a sad destiny for a creature of the forest, who was born free...! But that's when the Garden Gnome Liberation Front takes action! The gnome is taken away from the place of his imprisonment and taken to a wood, and the plaster statue that represents him is broken: that's how the gnome's soul is finally set free! Well, having said that, for all those of you who have a garden with gnomes: keep your eyes well open! ;-)

> Lotteria Italia 2010 - Lottery of Italy 2010
Da qualche settimana a questa parte sono andata ripetendo a parenti, amici e colleghi che oggi avrei vinto la lotteria.
Non ho detto che "speravo" di vincere la lotteria; affermavo con sicurezza estrema, come se fosse stato ovvio, che "l'avrei" vinta.
Ora, riuscite a immaginare la mia faccia, quando in tv hanno detto che il biglietto vincitore del secondo premio, di 5000000 di Euro, era stato venduto a Roma?
E riuscite anche ad immaginare quanto io vorrei vedere le facce di tutti coloro a cui annunciavo che avrei vinto??

For some weeks I kept repeating to relatives, friends and work mates that today I would have won lottery.
I didn't say I "hoped" to win lottery; I asserted I would have really "won" it, sure of what I was saying, like if it was obvious.
Now, can you imagine my face, when on tv they said the ticket that won the second prize, of 5000000 € , has been sold in Rome?
And can you also imagine how I'd like to see the faces of all those people to whom I said I would have won??

E' un bel po' che non scrivo, quindi facciamo un tuffo nel passato...
La settimana precedente il Natale Steve è venuto a trovarmi dall'Inghilterra!!!
Sono stati sei giorni fantastici, in cui ho potuto finalmente dividere la mia città con lui, anche per il nostro compleanno! :-)
Purtroppo l'ondata di gelo polare ci ha tenuto compagnia tutto il tempo, ma non è bastata a fermarci, per cui, tra pinguini e orsi bianchi, abbiamo comunque potuto visitare buona parte di Roma... Peccato per il pontile di Ostia chiuso! Perché?! Mi sono pure persa per arrivarci da Fiumicino! ^_^ '
E finalmente, una volta a casa, è avvenuto l'incontro con i miei genitori! Come previsto è andato tutto bene, nonostante facessi da interprete a tre persone che parlavano contemporaneamente e nonostante mia nonna ancora non abbia imparato il suo nome: "Stiff? Stir? Strif? Uhm... Stefano! Stefano! Stefanooo!" XD
Una giornata è stata dedicata a Stimigliano e Casperia, i cui vicoli rispecchiano l'immagine che in molti hanno dell'Italia (per fortuna non siamo solo pizza-mandolino-mafia)... Purtroppo, nonostante le credenze, essere definiti il "paese del sole" non ci esenta dalle raffiche di tramontana né dalla pioggia gelata! XD
Di Roma abbiamo visitato il Pincio, Piazza del Popolo, l'Ara Pacis, Piazza di Spagna e Trinità dei Monti, Fontana di Trevi (con la tradizionale monetina) , il Pantheon, Largo Argentina e i suoi adorabili gatti (ricordatevi che un amico peloso aspetta di essere adottato!) , Piazza Navona (col suo tradizionale mercatino natalizio e con le ciambelle giganti) , Piazza Venezia e l'Altare della Patria, Piazza del Campidoglio, l'Isola Tiberina e il Ponte Rotto, il Colosseo e i Fori Imperiali (peccato per lo sciopero della metro), Trastevere, San Pietro (fin sulla cupola! Che vertigini! Mi sono attaccata al muro come un geco! XD), Ponte Sant'Angelo e il suo fantasma, Piazza Barberini e Via Veneto, Corso Italia e Porta Pia con la sua breccia nelle Mura Aureliane... Abbiamo persino incontrato Dracula... A questo punto devo citare ancora una volta mia nonna: "Eh... Ma non gli hai fatto vedere nulla allora! :-( " Inutile dire che i nostri piedi sono in disaccordo con lei! :-|
Più volte siamo rimasti stupiti dal fascino della capitale, persino io che ci cammino ogni giorno.
Più volte abbiamo rischiato la vita su un risciò... Un consiglio: non perdetevi mai su un risciò per Via Nazionale ed evitate di imboccare la corsia del tram contromano! E se passate da Via dei Fori Imperiali e vedete una strana incisione su un muretto... Beh, siamo stati noi! °_° '
Più volte ci siamo riscaldati in qualche bar (la mia faccia e i miei versi quando bevo il caffè al bar sono spettacolari: "Blub :-x Mh :-S Ghhh XS Urgh XO BLEAAARGH!X@ ")!
Più volte ci siamo resi protagonisti di spettacoli acrobatici! Infatti il mio ragazzo mi ha insegnato qualcosa che mai, prima d'ora, ero riuscita a fare: saltare la cavallina! :-D Chissà quante risate i passanti... :-$
Terminata questa splendida settimana ( :'( ) sono iniziate le feste natalizie! Così mi sono divisa fra famiglia :-) , lavoro >:-( e un terribile raffreddore :-S
Ed oggi, finalmente, eccomi qui!

The week before Christmas Steve came here from England to visit me!!!
Six wonderful days during which i could share my city with him, for our birthday too! :-)
Unfortunately polar freezing weather kept us company all the time, but it wasn't enough to stop us, so, among penguins and white bears, we could visit a good part of Rome anyway... Shame for the closed pier in Ostia! Why?! I even lost my way to arrive there from Fiumicino! ^_^ '
Finally, at home, he could meet my parents! As i thought, everything was ok, although I was translating what three people said talking all together at the same time and although my grandmother didn't learn his name yet: "Stiff? Stir? Strif? Uhm... Stefano! Stefano! Stefanooo!" XD
We dedicated a day to Stimigliano and Casperia, whose little streets represent the picture of Italy like many people out of here imagine it in their mind (luckily we're not just seen like pizza-mandolino-mafia)... Unfortunately, unlike the common belief, being the "country of sun" doesn't dispens us from cold wind and frozen rain! XD
In Rome we visited the Pincio, Piazza del Popolo, the Ara Pacis, the Spanish Steps and Trinità dei Monti, Trevi Fountain (with the traditional coin) , the Pantheon, Largo Argentina and its lovely cats (remember a furry friend is waiting to be adopted!) , Piazza Navona (with its traditional Christmas market and its giant donuts) , Piazza Venezia and the Altare della Patria, Piazza del Campidoglio, Tiberina Island and the Broken Bridge, the Colosseo and the Fori Imperiali (shame for the strike of the subway), Trastevere, St Peters (on the dome too! Dizzineees! I walked on the wall like a gecko! XD), St Angelo's Bridge and its ghost, Piazza Barberini and Via Veneto, Corso Italia and Porta Pia with its breach in the Aurelian Walls... We even met Dracula... At this point I must quote my grandmother again: "Eh... You didn't show him anything then!:-(" Of course our feet don't agree with her at all! :-|
Several times we were surprised by the charm of the capital, I was surprised too, even if I walk there everyday.
Several times we risked our lives on a risciò ( a sort of bike with four wheels)... An advice: never lose your way in Via Nazionale when you're on a risciò and try not to drive in the wrong direction while you're on the tram rails! And if you walk in Via dei Fori Imperiali and see a strange sign on a wall... Well, it's a trace of our passage! °_° '
Several times we warmed ourselves up in a bar (my face and my noises when I drink a coffee in a bar are great: "Blub!:-x Mh! :-S Ghhh! XS Urgh! XO BLEAAARGH!X@ ")!
Several times we were protagonists of stunt shows! My boyfriend indeed taught me something that I was never able to do, before now: jump over a wall keeping my legs up and using just my hands! :-D People must have had a lot of fun watching me... :-$
When this wonderful week finished ( :'( ) Christmas days arrived! So I divided myself among family :-) work >:-( and a terrible cold :-S
And today, finally, I'm here!
So, even if shamefully late, let me wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :-)
