E anche l'Epifania è passata...
Cosa vi ha portato la Befana?
A me tanti dolci, cioccolatini, caramelle...
XD
XD
And even Epiphany is gone...
What did the Befana bring you?
She brought me a lot of sweets and chocolate and candies... Mmm ^^ Hopefully it'll cheer me up ^^'
But... Wait, there's something else cheering me up... A little memory!
A memory of when I was a child and I went to bed early, as a good child, cos Befana could see and hear everything, so I had to be careful... Mum clearly said that to me: good children = candies and various gifts, bad children = coal. And, what's worse, sugar coal... A nightmare for me! XD
The little old lady was never a delusion for me, she surprised me every year, filling my sock in the living room with all those little things I liked and always leaving some little extra gift, and every year she showed me she appreciated milk and nuts I left for her on the table, thanking me with a little letter she wrote with her weak old hand, making a lot of mistakes... Poor little old lady!
But one year I found the living room was empty... No full sock, not even a gift. I wondered if it was possible that, in the rush of bringing sweets to all the children, she forgot about me?
I was so disappointed and I slowly went in the kitchen to have breakfast; a great surprise was waiting there for me: the Befana, flying through the mantle (of the stove... and it was even closed... Eh, the power of magic! XD ), filled every single corner of the kitchen with candies, chocolate money, chewing gums and a lot of toys, little saucepans, plastic fruit and vegetable, dresses for my Barbie... I'll never forget that scene :')
Dear sweet Befana, although she had a lot of work, although it was so cold and although she was old and aching, she didn't forget about me at all :-)
The Befana... I was never tired of asking mum how she looked and everytime mum, so patient, repeated me the same story of ever: a sweet and poor lady, with a foulard on her head, who flies, riding her magic broom... Even that time onthe bus, mum described her like that...
Destiny decided that few minutes later an old woman, wearing a foulard on her head, came on the same bus...
Mum still blushes, thinking back to baby-Uapa who started screaming, while pointing the poor woman: MUM! LOOK, THE BEFANA (we also use this word to call an ugly woman) !!! THE BEFANA!!! MUM; THE BEFANA!!!
And trying to stop me, covering my mouth, didn't help at all! XD
And now, even if a saying we have says that Epifany takes away all the holidays, I'll show you two little works I made for Christmas... The first one is a gift for the woman who works with me, the second one is still travelling to reach friends in England (I wonder if it'll ever arrive there :-S )...

A little wreath made with felt... The picture is a bit dark, the wreath is actually green :-) |
 |
Devo dire che la renna mi ha dato molta soddisfazione :-) A little heart, made with felt too, to hang it wherever you like... I must say the reindeer gave me a big satisfaction :-) |
A presto! :-)
I hope I wasn't too boring and I hope you liked these little things!
See you soon! :-)
